Although Australia has taken some steps to incorporate labour protection systems in its anti-trafficking response, improvements can be made. This article examines how a misinterpretation of what sex trafficking is has isolated victims from access to civil remedies and prevention interventions. Instead, viewing sex trafficking as a form of labour trafficking will provide victims with greater assistance and stronger support networks.
