When the movie “12 Years a Slave” won Best Picture at the Oscars the Director dedicated the win to the “21 Million people who still suffer slavery today”. Who are these people living in slavery? What sort of slavery is there in the world today and what, if any, do we see in Australia? Trevor Chappell discussed this with Jennifer Burn, who is Associate Professor in Law at the University of Technology in Sydney and she is also the Director of Anti-Slavery Australia.
