Anti-Slavery Australia is pleased to present a new report  ‘Beyond storytelling: towards survivor-informed responses to modern slavery’.

This report shines a light on the contribution that survivors of modern slavery can make to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Australia’s response to modern slavery.

Drawing on survivor-authored or informed literature and interviews with survivors, survivor advocates and organisations working with survivors, this report charts the push — led by survivors — to engage with survivors in meaningful, ethical, and trauma-informed ways to improve responses to modern slavery.

Survivors and survivor-advocates contributed to the research, and we acknowledge their generosity,  expertise, insights and wisdom.  Many experts contributed to the report, and we are grateful for their expertise. This report was researched and written by Frances Simmons and Jennifer Burn with the generous support of the Mercy Foundation.
